Artwork I've Created: Kiss at Sunset Painting
This is a Valentine's Day themed painting I made. The couple kissing and the colors of the sunset capture the holiday perfectly. Let me show you how I did it!
After I sketched out my people and the horizon line, I layed down a watery layer of pink and orange for the sunset. Then, I used a darker purple-pink and made some clouds.
After I sketched out my people and the horizon line, I layed down a watery layer of pink and orange for the sunset. Then, I used a darker purple-pink and made some clouds.
Next, I used a dark red mixed with a touch of blue and blocked in the shape of more clouds. I took a little bit of white to brighten up around where the couple was standing. Then I used small wavy strokes to create the water. Make sure the colors of the water coorelate with the ones above, to make it appear as if the water is reflecting the sunset.
Next, I painted the land great and added some small shadows. I glazed over the water with some pink-purple and added some more white highlights. I was unhappy with how the clouds look, so I also added some pink and white highlights. Then, I painted the silhouettes of the people black, and added some black shadows to the sand.
This was the final product!
