Artwork I've Created: Colored Pencil Cheetah
Today I'd like to show you a drawing of a cheetah that I created.

My inspiration was a YouTube tutorial by a girl named Kathy Partridge. Go check her out. She's pretty cool.
The first thing I did was sketch my cheetah onto my paper. Then, starting with the eyes, I laid down some yellow, brown, and black. Next, I blended it out with 75% rubbing alcohol and a stiff paintbrush. I repeated this two more times. Then I used a very sharp white colored pencil on the highlights.
After that, I laid down some color for the top half of the cheetah. I used black, dark brown, light brown, and gold. Then I blended out the color with rubbing alcohol again. I repeated this two more times. The reason for all of the coloring and blending is just to lay down the shadows for the fur, so don't worry about being to detailed.
Next, I started adding detail to the top half of the face. Use a very sharp white colored pencil and draw in fur. Make sure the length and direction of it matches your reference photo. Then, I took a black and feathered it in with the white. I also feathered in a little bit of brown and gold.
I repeated the process of coloring, blending, and adding detail to the bottom half of the cheetah. I didn't add as much detail to the out of focus part of the cheetah, which made it look more like a photo.
That was the very last thing I did, and the drawing was complete.
