Artwork I've Created: Art Journal, Jellyfish

Art Journal: Oil Pastel Rainbow Jellyfish

This is one of my art journal entries for my first semester art class. For each of our art journal requirements, we have to create a two page spread representing the prompt. This prompt was "Favorite Animal." I wanted to make something colorful, and after scrolling through the Internet for ideas, I figured jellyfish would be perfect.

I started by coloring the jellyfish. I used oil pastels to easily blend the colors. Then I colored in the background. And then I added bubbles to fill in some of the blank space. (And they just looked really cool.) My teacher also requires you use two art mediums, and interesting letters/words in each entry. So, I painted "Roam Free" in a curvy, wavy font to make it water-like. Then I was done! My art journal really enjoyed this entry, and I hope you do too!
